1.0 PURPOSE
1.1

The purpose of this report is to present the procedures employed and the results obtained while conducting the EMC tests on the DC-DC Power Supply, submitted by Martek Power, Inc., which is hereinafter referred to as the equipment under test (EUTs).

1.2 The EMC tests as specified in this report were performed in accordance with MIL-STD-461E.
1.3 The test results are summarized in Para. 3.0 and all test data sheets/plots are included as Appendix C in this report.

3.0 SUMMARY OF TEST RESULTS
3.1 CE101-- Conducted Emissions Test
Power Leads, 30Hz to 10 kHz
MIL-STD-461E Method CE101, Curve #2
a) The CE101 test was conducted from 30 Hz to 10 kHz. The 28 Vdc High lead and 28 Vdc Return Lead of the following EUTs was, respectively, tested in accordance with Method CE101 of MIL-STD-461E Curve #2.

b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the Full Load mode during the test.
c) No over-limit emissions were measured or recorded during this test.
d) The EUTs met the requirements of the CE101 Test in accordance with Method CE101 of MIL-STD-461E Curve #2.
e) The test data plots are included as Appendix C in this report.
   

 

3.2 CE102 - Conducted Emissions Test
Power Leads, 10 kHz to 10 MHz
MIL-STD-461E Method CE102
a) The CE102 Test was conducted from 10 kHz to 10 MHz. The 28 Vdc High lead and the 28 Vdc Return lead of the following EUTs were, respectively, tested.

b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the Full Load mode during the test.
c) No over-limit emissions were measured or recorded during this test.
d) The EUTs met the requirement of the CE101 Test in accordance with Method CE101 of MIL-STD-461E.
e) The test data plots are included as Appendix C in this report.
 

 

 
3.3 CS101 - Conducted Susceptibility Test
Power Leads, 30 Hz to 50 kHz
MIL-STD-461E Method CS101
a) The CS101 test was conducted from 30 Hz to 150kHz on the 28 Vdc High lead of the following EUTs.
[1] ((M/N: NBF150-C; S/N:  PROTO #1) +
(M/N: NB150SM/5-C; S/N: PROTO #4))
b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the Full Load mode during the test.
c) The EUTs did not show any signs of malfunction or degradation as a result of this test.
d) The EUTs met the requirements of the CS101 Test in accordance with Method CS101 of MIL-STD-461E.
e) The test data sheet is included as Appendix C in this report.
   

 

3.4 CS114 - Conducted Susceptibility Test
Bulk Cable Injection, 10 kHz to 400 MHz
MIL-STD-461E Method CS114, Curve #5
a) The CS114 test was performed from 10 kHz to 400 Mhz. The 28 Vdc High lead and 28 Vdc High lead = 28 Vdc Return lead of the EUTs ((M/N: NBF150-C; S/N:  PROTO #1) + (M/N: NB150SM/5-C; S/N: PROTO #4)) were, respectively, tested in accordance with Method CS114 of MIL-STD-461E Curve #5.
b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the Full Load mode during the test.
c) The EUTs shown had the following anomaly recorded:
  > Anomaly: The AC components of the CS114 interference signal (carrier + pulse modulation) were observed superimposed on the dc output of the device as observed on an oscilloscope by as little as .03 mVac to as much as 4.3 Vac from 14 MHz to 112 MHz.
> Disposition by Customer: Abnormal noted, accepted and continue test.
d) For the above anomaly, see Notice of Test Anomaly and the test data sheets/plots in Appendix C of this report for details.
   

 

3.5 CS115 - Conducted Susceptibility Test
Bulk Current Injection Impulse Excitation
MIL-STD-461E Method CS115
a) The CS115 test was performed on the DC high and DC High + DC Return of the following EUTs in accordance with the MIL-STD-161E Method CS115 at a 30 Hz repetition rate for one minute.

(M/N: NB150SM/5-C; S/N: PROTO #4))
b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the Full Load mode during the test.
c) The EUTs did not show any signs of malfunction or degradation as a result of this test.
d) The EUTs met the requirements of the CS115 Test in accordance with Method CS115 of MIL-STD-461E.
e) The test data sheets/plots are included as Appendix C in this report.
   

 

3.6 CS116 - Conducted Susceptibility Test
Cables and Power Leads, Damped Sinusoidal Transients
MIL-STD-461E Method CS116
a) The CS116 test was conducted on the DC High and the DC High + DC Return of the following EUTs in accordance with Method CS116 of MIL-STD-461E.

(M/N: NB150SM/5-C; S/N: PROTO #4))
b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the "Full Load" + "Off" modes during the test.
c) The EUTs did not show any signs of malfunction or degradation as a result of this test.
d) The EUTs met the requirements of the CS116 Test in accordance with Method CS116 of MIL-STD-461E.
e) The test data sheets/plots are included as Appendix C in this report.
   

 

3.7 RE101 - Radiated Emissions Test
Magnetic Field, 30 Hz to 100 kHz
MIL-STD-461E Method RE101
a) The RE101 Test was performed from 30 Hz to 100 kHz at 7-cm and 50-cm on the test sides of the EUTs ((M/N: NBF150-C; S/N: PROTO #1) + (M/N: NB150SM/5-C; S/N: PROTO #1))
b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the Full Load mode during the test.
c) No over-limit emissions were measured or recorded during the test.
d) The EUTs met the requirements of the RE101 Test in accordance with Method RE101 of MIL-STD-461E.
e) The test data plots are included as Appendix C in this report.
   

 

3.8 RE102 - Radiated Emissions Test
Electric Field, 10 kHz to 18 GHz
MIL-STD-461E Method RE102
a) The RE102 test was performed from 10 kHz to 18 GHz. Measurements were taken for "Peak" signals in accordance with Method RE102 of MIL-STD-461E. The following EUTs were tested:

(M/N: NB150SM/5-C; S/N: PROTO #1))
b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in Full Load mode during the test.
c) The following anomaly was measured and recorded.
> Anomaly: Out-of-limit electric field (radiated) emissions were measured and recorded between 36 MHz and 202 MHz by as much as 14 db at 39 MHz.
> Disposition by Customer: Test data anomaly noted and accepted.
d) For the above anomaly, see Notice of Test Anomaly and the test data plots in Appendix C of this report for details.
   

 

3.9 RS101 - Radiated Susceptibility Test
Magnetic Field, 30 Hz to 100 kHz
MIL-STD-461E Method RS101
a) The RS101 test was conducted from 30 Hz to 100 kHz on all sides of the following EUTs.
[1] ((M/N: NBF150-C; S/N:  PROTO #1) +
(M/N: NB150SM/5-C; S/N: PROTO #4))
b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the Full Load mode during the test.
c) The EUTs did not show any signs of malfunction or degradation as a result of this test.
d) The EUTs met the requirements of the RS101 Test in accordance with Method RS101 of MIL-STD-461E.
e) The test data sheet is included as Appendix C in this report.
   

 

3.10 RS103 - Radiated Susceptibility Test
Electric Field, 10 kHz to 10 GHz
MIL-STD-461E Method RS103
a) The RS103 test was performed from 10 kHz to 10 GHz at 20V/m with 1 kHz pulse modulation 50% duty cycle applied. The following EUTs were subjected to the RS103 test:

(M/N: NB150SM/5-C; S/N: PROTO #1))
b) The EUTs were energized with 28 Vdc and operated in the Full Load mode during the test.
c) The following anomaly was recorded:
> Anomaly: AC Component of RS103 signal (carrier + pulse modulation) observed on dc output trace on an oscilloscope from 10 kHz - 1000 MHz. Deviation of output beyond acceptable limit observed from 50 - 100 MHz.
> Disposition by Customer: Anomaly noted. Accepted and continue test.
d) For the above anomaly, see Notice of Test Anomaly and the test data sheet in Appendix C of this report for details.
