Quality Assurance


Martek Power Abbott Quality Assurance Program    At the heart of Martek Power Abbott's Quality Assurance program is management's support of our practice of designing and "building in" Quality that is measurable in terms of reliability and customer satisfaction.  With current system that meets MIL-I-45208A. Martek Power Abbott is also ISO 9001:2000 certified.
  To accomplish this, we have a well-documented system that is implemented by a team of experienced professionals; this starts with initial design reviews, and follows through with supplier selection, in-depth training on such critical subjects as IPC-A-610B and ESD protection, and application of Statistical Process Control techniques for continuous improvement.
  Also of key importance are internal audits to assess continued compliance, a "closed loop" corrective action system to help keep things on track, and our calibration recall system implemented by outside labs certified to ISO 9002.
A summary of standards which we presently meet at Martek Power Abbott includes the following: MIL-I-45208A (transitioning to ISO 9001) for the quality system, MIL-STD-454 Requirements 5 and 9 (transitioning to IPC-A-610B Class 2) for workmanship, MIL-STD-1686 for Electrostatic Discharge control, MIL-STD-105 for sampling, MIL-STD-45662 for calibration control, and a statistical process control program based on guidelines approved by Lockheed Martin.

 


Martek Power Abbott Quality
Organization
  As can be seen in Martek Power Abbott's Organization Chart and Quality Assurance Functional Chart, Quality Assurance reports directly to the President and General Manager.   Quality exercises its responsibility and authority to make sure that only those products which meet both the Customers' and Martek Power Abbott's high level of standards are delivered to users.

Reliability   Each of the units listed in our catalog has been subjected to an in-depth reliability analysis prior to its being introduced into production to assure that it will meet company objectives.  As a result of this and demonstrated field performance, Martek Power Abbott is continuously selected as the approved supplier of choice for critical military and aerospace high reliability programs.
Failure analyses in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217 have been conducted on representative units from each model family of power supplies. The table that is provided in this summary shows the typical Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of some our models.
